Position Title: Marketing Coordinator

Position Reports to: Marketing Manager with dotted line to CEO

Position Summary: This position requires excellent writing and editing skills and an ability to work with many different client personalities. Those without a firm grasp on grammar, especially spelling – need not apply! Familiarity with all media types is essential, with a solid understanding of digital and social media.

Duties: This position will effectively and efficiently perform essential account management, projects and tasks requested by the supervisor.

A successful candidate must be able to satisfactorily perform the functions listed below.  

  • Regularly create & post content and scheduling for a variety of social media clients
  • Author digital audits
  • Author and design newsletters and promotional emails for clients
  • Project management skills 
  • Authoring press releases, blogs and other documents
  • Onboarding & managing online directories
  • Website design, build & management (TLC will provide training)
  • Digital Advertising (TLC will provide training)
  • Other duties as assigned
  • All of the above must be performed with attention to detail and an excellent command of writing skills using proper grammar and style guide requirements 

Hours of Work: Monday – Friday 9 am-5 pm. Occasionally an evening or weekend project may be required, but comp time is given in those instances. 

       Qualifications required:

  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint in the MS Office Suite
  • Must be willing to be trained on social media tools such as video editing and graphics arts programs, e.g., Canva, Animatron, etc.
  • College graduate with an emphasis in Public Relations, Journalism or Business Management
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a valid insurance card
Marketing Intern
Desired Class Level(s): Junior, Senior

Summary: TLC Marketing Consultants is looking for a talented marketing intern to assist in the areas of social media, digital media and traditional media platforms. TLC Marketing Consultants works with many clients, including KC Rep Theatre, 810 Sports Talk Radio, Cap Fed and more. Intern will gain exposure to many of these organizations and work on a variety of marketing projects.

If you have a passion for marketing and the motivation to produce great work, we’d love for you to join our marketing team for a semester for this internship.

Duties: The intern will personally deliver specific projects and tasks as requested by the supervisor in an effective and efficient manner for marketing purposes. A successful candidate must be able to perform in an effective and efficient manner for marketing purposes. A successful candidate must be able to perform in a satisfactory manner the functions listed below:

  • Computer access and skills (including Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Project management skills
  • Written and verbal skills

Hours of work: The internship program can be adjusted to meet the intern’s college schedule requirements. However, the preferred intern schedule would be two full days per week or four mornings/afternoons. We do require a standard schedule so that we may best mentor and plan intern activities.

Qualifications required:

  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint in the MS Office Suite
  • High school graduate and currently enrolled in accredited four-year college journalism or business department
  • Internship is non-paid and must be taken for college credit
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Internship dates:
Spring: January-April
Summer: June-August
Fall: September-December
