Life moves fast, and it might feel impossible to stay healthy while you have a bazillion things to do at the office, a new pitch to a potential customer and that important night out of entertaining a current client. Here are a few ways to stay healthy, so you are at your best on your busiest days.
- Create a list
Creating a list will enable you to stay on top of the most important tasks of the day while incorporating healthy lifestyle habits to complete throughout your busy schedule.
- Have good sleep habits
Sleep time is crucial because this is your body’s and brain’s recovery time. Studies show If you don’t get the proper amount of sleep time, your brain won’t be able to function at full capacity, which means your decision-making process will be hindered. The recommended hours of sleep for working adults is 7 to 9 every night.
- Water intake
The majority of your body is made up of water; (hint) water is essential to your health. Running from meeting to meeting, it is easy to forget to hydrate, so bring a reusable water bottle or cup with you to work each day. Because without it, you won’t be able to operate effectively!
- Meal Prep
Meal prepping saves both time and money. Pick a day before the work-week to fix healthy meals for your lunch. This way, you won’t go out to eat and pick something unhealthy.
- Use headphones when talking on the phone
Business calls can be long, so why not throw a pair of headphones on so you can stay active and pace around the office or go on a walk outside. This way, you get some exercise while living an active lifestyle.
- Short workouts
Some of us don’t have time to make it to the gym every day so fit in short workouts into your daily routine. For example, do some lunges while brushing your teeth or squats while you’re on a conference call. Even consider switching to a standing desk for a constant core workout!
- Healthy snacks
Becoming hungry at work and tempted to have a slice of office cake? You’ll be a lot less tempted if you bring a healthy snack to work with you!
- Relax
After a busy day at work, your stress levels can be sky-high, which is not good for your health. When you come home, think about taking a warm bath, reading a book or binge-watch a few episodes of your latest Netflix obsession. And remember to laugh. Often. Studies show laughing is one of the best ways to de-stress!
